LOOK

“Look” and I saw no shape, form, design,
or distinguishing lines to say this is life
but rectangles and squares solid and staid
like wood before carved and put on display.

Thunder and lightening and storms of change
destroy downward slides into pits of dismay
for made by a master each treasure must rise
and in wonder embrace the stages of life.

As the wind of defeat seeps under the door
we recall and remember the start of it all
and see at our feet the remnants of dreams
slowly transform into what still can be.

Arise and we do to the power of one
as a spirit is drawn into realms of true love
and we begin again on the journey of soul
that may never take us out of our homes.

It’s within that we grow and change today
for the challenge of life lies after the grave
where rectangles and squares are made out of air
and all we are now follows us there.

“Look” and I see the uniqueness of me
imprinted with all I am privileged to feel
and when I am there with squares in the air
know it’s not wind that rustles your hair!

You look deeply and find treasures.
Very beautiful lines ...

for made by a master each treasure must rise
and in wonder embrace the stages of life.

How many look yet never see.

Thank you, Helen, for sharing this with us.

Am puzzled as to why this only has two responses...

This is a thought provoking, wonderful piece...

"sit on top of the world and tell me how you feel...'cause what you feel is what I feel for you.."

Hi, Margherita, icebox and Susan.  Thank you for your responses.  I think the majority of people look but never see although surprisingly enough I am encountering it more these days.
And Susan, I come from a country where internet access is extremely expensive and this prevents me from replying to the posts of others.  It would then naturally follow that they wouldn't respond to mine because life is, after all, about give and take.  One day when I'm rich ....!!!

Helen

'“Look” and I see the uniqueness of me"

I do, and you are!  It's always a priviledge to read your poetry.
