Picture by Josephine Wall * * * This is purely a fictitious piece of writing, although I have seen people like this in the past and it is such a sad thing to see. * * * I sit along a corridor Just passing the time of day These people come to see me For just awhile they stay I don't know who they are But they seem to know me My life seems so confusing I'm not the man I used to be I sit still just like a statue But no one really seems to care Blank faces are all around me Into space is where they stare I watch the flowers wilting In the vase next to the door Once bright colors are now fading Soon their life will be no more In God's waiting room I sit A flight to heaven I await Outstretched arms will welcome me When I arrive at heaven's gate * * * "We are all angels with only one wing, we can fly only by embracing each other" I am in motion |

I am young...and can only imagine what it is to let time simply pass as though my soul was imprisoned by the effects of this world... Your poem paints a sad picture, but a picture nonetheless. It is beautiful because i can feel through it. thank you for sharing this "Who you are speaks so loudly...I can hardly hear what you are saying" |

Sue, this evoked my childhood memories of some of the patients I remember from a nursing home. Good writing. |

Hi Sue, this is an extraordinary write, and it captures a wonderful plight as we surcomb our spirits into the hereafter. You have a wonderful imagery of spiriting your words into each of your writes. Thank you Sue. |
