Poem Written in the Night

Open, open your mouth
while we kiss. Take me
in with wet breaths
and kisses. Eat my passion
and absorb it with your
eyes; don't hurry, don't
be slow, take care only
to not hold yourself
back; do not feel encumbered.

You, who had accepted
my invitations, I now
speak clearly to your fine
ear. You, who had kissed
me in gentleness, now kiss
me with fire!

I keep your face in a cupboard
in my mind, in a suitcase
in my heart. Let your face
merge with mine
when we meet,
taking me where I
can't breathe without
taking in some of you.

I spent years, and years,
without you, all of my life.
Now be with me,
let me take you alive,
but may you take, envelope,
me also.
