my dog, would say
if he could say
these silly games
he likes to play
I let him out
he runs away
my dog played fetch
with me today
come catch the dog
play keep away
cuz tennis balls are
childrens play
once your dumb dog
learns keep away
so teach that stupid fool to stay
or he will teach you keepaway

I happen to be a well-trained dog owner too.
(Let's not even talk about cats, I've got those too--or rather, they have ME. )

Thanks for the smile.

Methinks we all have a touch of the Pavlov in us.

It's a catch 22 all right!
Long as they don't bite!
What a fun poem, Jason~
