The shadows are growing longer At the end of this perfect day In a world all his own He's had so much fun at play With his red pail and spade Building castles in the sand He gives chase to some seagulls As they come in to land Soon he'll hear his mother calling For it will soon be time to go As the sun starts sinking lower And the waves lap to and fro This gorgeous blond haired boy Will dream of dolphins at sea He'll fly high with the seabirds And feel so alive and free Tomorrow he'll return With his spade and pail in hand For another day of fun Right here upon the sand I am in motion |

Isn't it quite the essence of childhood that pleasures should be so simple "right here in the sand" Loved the poetry and the picture. That blonde-haired little boy looks so much like my grandson. |

Hello Suetang In reading this poem...I was so taken by the photograph. It reminded me of my son and how life is but sand in an hourglass, seemed like only yesterday yet seems like a lifetime away. So very touching and I really enjoyed the read! pictureme! |
