The small,roly-poly puppy frolics behind the old weathered farmhouse. Playfully he trips over his stubby paws as he turns circles in the long thin grass. Leaving Mamma to tend the sheep, he tumbles and falls flat at the foot of the front porch. Looking up with his little pink tongue dangling out of his tiny mouth, he lazily looks around the farmyard to see if he is alone. Bored and lonely, the puppy makes his way up the monstrous steps. Finally reaching the top, he takes another long look around the farmyard. Seeing no one he plops down laying his golden head on his dirty little paws. His eyes start to close and he lets out a deep sigh. He falls asleep with no worries on his mind, no cares in his heart. |

I love any puppy poem and this one is excellent! You sure you're not talking about the farmer's son?? |

It's harder to kick a puppy than a kitty. Nicely written poem, Youngster. |

Oh sweet babies they are so cute and cuddly. Right now I have two bunnies that come and visit. Today the little white one heard the bag I have for carrots and she hopped up the steps to get her reward. She seems to be most tame and not afraid. The little boy is more careful, But he loves his carrots also. Love your poem. Bon-Bon |
