Someone wrote a poem recently that took me back as to why I started to write a lot of peotry some years ago.

I had burned myself out working non-stop for years and poetry became a way to clear out the clinkers from my boiler.

This is personal, a lot of things I write are pleasure at the world and having some ability to write.

Dave

When the stress clears
Your eyes are keen
They were so keen before
They intimate to you
Your a game from well before
They think you are so old
But the people want you there
They think they are so good
Why are their grins so bare
You type an old poem
The readers know the words
They know the meaning
You've exhausted as they heard
So why do you write it
Well it's still within my soul
But they dont want to read it
I cant help it
It keeps me whole
I'd like to say I'm sorry
To those who've heard before
But the music keeps on playing
The same very old score
I should end the poem here
Leave a word to end
But the light of life keeps tickling
Something around the bend
So I will keep on typing
And fighting all I know
And when they finally
Say goodbye to me
I know which way I'll go

Hi Dave

Thanks for sharing this piece with us.  I guess we all begin writing for different reasons and I believe writing is a very personal thing that comes from our innermost being.  I feel so much more complete in my life since my writing began and I hope it is a good release for you.

Take care.......Sue

writing is for everyone
and as the blacksmith with every skill
is required to shoe anything before him
without pain

so the write smiths try to shoe the world
with words

but you cant feed the world with words
nor can you stop a Dictator feeding the world with deaths and money for his friends

words have been taken by politicans and people for their own limited objectives where they dont care who suffers

I am not some bleeding heart, but I care and I also say I put everything I had financially at risk for a debt I needed morally repay even though I dont even now think I should, but in those days your word mattered, now your ass is all that matters.

Dave
