Don’t sit up and wait for the Midnitesun
for its time for a break,
time to move forward and shake
off Denver’s dust devils,
head for the open sea, a refreshing dip.

But wait!

What’s this I hear ‘bout polluted waters and sands?
Oh NO! Have I waited too long?
Have I climbed too many Boulders ‘tween here and poetic paradise?
Never mind,
for if there is a nearly pristine place on earth without cellphones,
I shall find it.

Success is two parts determination
blended with one part luck,
and the number three appears to be whole to me.
Three souls mixed together
yield a positive force greater than three.
This may sound strange to someone
creatively challenged.
But passionate poets, musicians and artists
seem to understand
my meandering muse’s math mentality.

Thank you.

This soon-to-be unplugged passionate gypsy poet
shall pick up quill and parchment
in lieu of 'lectronic keyboard,
travel new adventurous roads,
with Reflections in her backpack,
carrying bits and pieces of your hearts
wherever she roams.

Unplugged and temporarily homeless perhaps,
but never without friends.
You are my permanent roots,
the magical music of my soul.

Sounds like determination and making the best of things. Hope it becomes a positive adventure. I couldn't help but think of a very interesting movie I'd recommend any thinker/poet rent called "Mindwalk." A physicist, a politician and a poet discuss the state of the world as they wander around Mont Saint Michel, starring Sam Waterson, Liv Ullmann and John Heard. Been 3 or 4 years since I've seen it but now I'll rent it again. Thanks and good luck.

midnitesun,

I'm so happy for your courageous move, to become plugged into the unknown.  From nature is the true electricity.  Enjoy, but in between times, find somewhere among the sea a computer and let us know how you're doing and what you've learned.

I fear I have been among the missing for way too long ....

adventures are reality in play and you are the star of your show ... or in your case, THE Midnitesun!

I dare ask ..... how do your cupboards fare?

My cupboards are fine, thank you, Craig, I  just don't belong in the middle of the city, so I'm moving.

And to everyone at Pips, I am thankful for each moment I spend with you, and am also glad that the Reflections book will arrive in time and fit nicely into my travel plans.
Richard, I will print out at least two or three of your writes with your permission, as I understand you asked to have your work pulled from this particular book. Thank you for sharing your incredible mind and talents.

Fortunately we had a GTD implanted in your ear one night after you'd had a few too many brews.

Hiya Kacy!  May your travels inspire your writing and not burden your incredible heart.  I look forward to the alchemized results of your soon-to-be new-found adventures.  Take care, my friend, and keep that "ripple" flowing!

Good luck, KC - Which direction are you going to take first?  Have you plans to visit other poets while you are on the road?  My first recommendation, even though there are so many wonderful people, visit Elizabeth.  She has so many experiences with traveling and living abroad, and documenting what she did.  She will be a wealth of knowledge.

If you have a chance to swing through Kansas, be sure to say "hi" to Karilea.  I'm sure she will make you feel at home.
