if you've never felt the snow melt on your skin
and have never kissed a dragonfly's wing
if you've never burned your face on a star
never choked on a chocolate bar

if you never heard the voice of the sea
never felt like finding the key
if you never smelled the grass turn green
you can't understand what i have seen

cause when i lay down on a meadow field
all my skins and tears revealed
when i reach down to the core
i can see an open door

if this shallow smile is all that's in your heart
if your soul has never been torn apart
if you never cried out in dispair
and never inhaled raspberry air

if you never felt that fire in your eyes
if you never stumbled by surprise
if you never smiled at a new day
you won't understand what i have to say

cause when i lay down on a meadow field
all my skins and tears revealed
when i reach down to the core
i just know what friends are for

turning mirrors upside down won't make dust fall off the ground, hiding wounds won't ease the pain, sleep won't make you whole again...
