Newspaper she pasted atop every poetic page,
cover to cover on crochet-built book.
    Century’s patterns of fading schemes,
      doilies, shawls, lace fine dreams.

the book may  have been her mother’s mother,
who treasured hooking threads her soul
         Gloving delicate memories
                 warm.

Mystery remains the poetry book,
was it by lost sweetheart given?
She rests now on pages hidden
       'long her crochet love.

   Written in memories
       of Georgie.

I have a glove,
and some very old books
of poetry,
the glove lays upon them,
like a friend touching a friend,
and a strand of pearls
marries memories.

Enjoyed this very much, m'dear.

Girl, I enjoyed this a lot. You are passionate. That is the key to anything. You can write about a piece of sand if you are passionate.
I could feel this book...
wonderful

passiing shadow,
The richness of the situation was sweet, my writing just an outcome.   Thanks for dropping by again.

Terrina,
Yes, I believe you're right!  If you're compassionate enough, I imagine you could bring tears or joys from a grain of sand.  I have a feeling you'd be the one to do it!
Thanks for your kindness.

Sunshine,

Twice in one day you made my day!  That puts me a day ahead! Thank you so much for taking time to read this again.  (As you may note about my poetry, it changes from minute to minute through constant revision--this is how my name was derived.  I constantly circle, re-analyzing.)  I'm glad you checked it out again!

A lovely picture you have painted in my mind. I will be thinking about this poem for quite some time. Chris

Ethel,

I'm glad you liked it.  I'm fortunate to have had the memories of Georgie so that I could write it.  Like the book, she lingers.

harash,

I'm glad you enjoyed it.  Wish you could have seen the book with its fanned starched pages, an open invitation to thumb through...

I have such a book--mostly filled with others words, and a lot from friends at this site. It's something I did just for me when I feel blue.

Now you have me wondering what others might wonder should they stumble across it after I'm gone...but smile? I guess it won't matter to ME then.

lovely stuff, Sadie. Thank you.

Serenity Blaze,

Thank you, Serenity, for your response.  What would others think?  Probably, they'd be tickled to have their thoughts packed in your big black book!  I know i would!
    Take care,
                Sadie
