~*~ ~*~
There is a child within us
we need not hide so deep
The part of us that never grows up
is so much fun to keep

Whenever trials and pain of life
seem to take their toll
If we call upon the child within
we will find it has a roll

The child within is a refuge
when hard are storms of life
To offer a smile from memories
of when we knew not strife

Bringing to us laughter
and joy from deep within
Helping us to know that
life is possible to win

For so much in this life
could unhappy make us stay
Maybe for a part of our time
we can laugh   have fun   and play

If we will let our child self
take over for a little while
We may find upon our face
a happy little smile

My first thought to this was... I'm still very much a virgin, and I'm quite positive there's no child within!!!
But then maybe that's just from the kid in me that wants to laugh
I like it, good for a smile.

Always, Alyss

...I am a girl of tears.

Very nice poem Ethel - the child in me comes to the surface every time my grandkids come so I know there is one in me - it just is a bit slower than it was so many years ago

Ohhhh I love this, and that is the perfect graphic to go with it! Those teddies are adorable   I like the upbeat, let-your-hair-down and play of this poem!

I agree...and you have written it beautifully.

Mine peaks out every once in a while...
especially when I look in the mirror where
my face doesn't hide all of my years.

Ethel,
This is one of my favorite since my beginnings at Passions.  This is absolute beautiful, and oh, so true!  Music, art, and children keep me sane and happy, in such a crazy world.  May I keep this one?

Bill, thank you. I'm glad that it
made you smile.

(smiles) Yay! (does happy dance) I want to spend my whole life with the spirit of the boy giggling and skipping about joyfully! (kiss on cheek) I believe that life is about living young and that is why God made us born as little children! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, always believe the little girl in you, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

The child within us keeps us innocent. We need to keep in touch with our inner child. This is absolutely beautiful!
