Anger ripples every time I try
to put a voice to my pen
I don’t know
what to say to it
and it stubbornly refuses
to speak for me
It leaves a hunger
for words
where once no void
existed
As my body yearns
for nourishment
my muscles
are too tired
to cook the food
and sleep wins
the battle of
appetite versus fatigue
My paper longs so for ink
but my mind is
out of focus and
the lines don’t
come easy
anymore
