The Ozarks on Christmas Morn

I’ve stood in the Ozarks on Christmas morn,
And felt not the anguish of the forlorn.
I’ve capered o’er mountains and fished in streams,
While the world dreamt naught but sugarplum dreams.
You can have your white Christmas and the cold,
For ‘tis Arkansas green that I’d behold,
Yea Santa might drive a reindeer and sled,
But I’ve ridden upon a thoroughbred.
Merry Christmas to all, Happy New Year,
And a toast to the State I’ll e’er hold dear.
Arkansas, someday, to thee I’ll return,
‘Til then for thy Ozarks I’ll ever yearn.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

Been there...spent a year, and yes sometimes I yearn for it too, even though I sometimes heard "Yankee" behind my back because I was from 'way up north in Missouri....

My first girlfriend ever was from Harrisonville...a peach nicknamed Peaches!
