Now That You’re Gone

Emotions are heavy on this soft heart,
I sit here and cry out as our love drifts apart,
You promised me you’d never hurt me,
That you’d never desert me.

Obviously that promise is too hard for you to keep,
As I look back on what we had and what I’ve lost so quickly I weep,
Of course you could care less,
Now that you’re gone.

Someday I hope you realize what you’ve done,
Realize that getting hurt is not fun,
It will take time to rid this pain,
As for now I have nothing to gain without you.

Obviously that promise is too hard for you to keep,
As I look back on what we had and what I’ve lost so quickly I weep,
Of course you could care less,
Now that you’re gone.

You sucked the life out of me,
Squeezed my heart dry,
Are you happy now,
You should be,
Mission accomplished,
You hurt me.

For anyone that's been in a relationship they know how painful it can be sometimes. My hope is to get rid of this pain someday.
