In Black And White I remember those times when just the nearness of you would send me spinning, not knowing how to react. Now I sit empty of feeling, the year's end reminding me of my losses and unanswered prayers. You are free to be yourself, though I trusted in your embrace, my love not enough to stand you outside my door. I feel untouchable, when eyes forsake the tightness of my hold, the outlines of your twists and turns fragmenting my love, its surrender always one day away. I am burdened by this gift of feel, forever lonely in its wake, each anniversary a reminder of that first moment's meet of understanding, realizing the all of you collecting in my heart, remaining there till this day. I may be feverish in thought, but I am absent of ache when I sound your words through lips once kissed, bridging me from then to now. We live in shades of gray, my hazel eyes shadowed by the blue in yours, waiting for their blending to overcome the odds and for the newness of the coming year and all it holds, to elude us no more. "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." |

"I am burdened by this gift of feel, forever lonely in its wake, each anniversary a reminder of that first moment's meet of understanding, realizing the all of you collecting in my heart, remaining there till this day." This touched me deeply, particularly, "the all of you collecting in my heart" -- what an overwhelming feeling. Good write.....lol.....jo |

There's a lot of reminiscing going on here, and you wrote it beautifully Maureen. I liked this, especially the bridge that connects our yesterdays with today. Seems it gets longer and wider with each passing year. I may be feverish in thought, but I am absent of ache when I sound your words through lips once kissed, bridging me from then to now. Monday morning hugs for you M~ |
