How be it that thy eyes are a surrenderment of glistening sorrow
For thy hearts tribulation is but an after thought of thy will in thy days tomorrow

I sought the ruins of thy vagrancy
Only to have bestowed upon me a shadow endearing to my souls vacancy

My vibrant light may not shine as it did in this morning after glow
For thy dissipation has left me tacit, gray and cold

Oh weary one where be thy wonderment and grace
Thou hast cast a silhouette upon my hearts smile that causeth me to companion a lone tear that falleth from my face

Be there no wine that I forsake in this final demise
For the kiss of relinquishment give the vine no taste in the finality of loves surmise
Spiral flakes shadow and overwhelm loves warm air
In the validation of the rhapsody it is my soul left to despair

I clasp my core for fear that it will follow
Yet I cannot grasp that which has escaped me and left me barren and hollow
Here within the shadows entombed
I am forever imprisoned by the crimson foliages that lie upon my doom.

So much pain and saddness I feel....but the beauty of your words shines through this poem, a beautiful piece...

I like your Shakespearean style of poetry...

I've been looking at the familiar too...glad there's a new and soon-to-be-familiar voice using it so well.

Your writings are so stunning and captivating.  Thank you for sharing your talent!

If the sun never rises
I want to go down in flames
I want the last thing I hear to be
you whispering my name.
Every moment together is time
that we borrow,
so hold me tight and love me like
there is no tomorrow.

“I sought the ruins of thy vagrancy

Though, at first, I was only going to comment on the first line of this stanza, I found it necessary to give both the credit they so richly deserve.  Exquisite craftsmanship…I love the “ruins of vagrancy” line.  Expert!  The second line simply amplifies the beauty of the first.  Oh, how we seek that which we do not fully know, only to find that which we do not fully understand.

Jeff, even though this is so sad, it's beautiful.
Like the others said, I'm glad you're here, too.

(I thought that I had read this, but apparently
I didn't. I'm glad that it came back up to the front.)

Methinks I would ask, though a secret should not be told,
of the maiden who, or muse, perhaps, that leaves you with thoughts of gold...

Enjoying your work, Sir.
