In Your Poetic Mind

{I weep}

Thinking of rivers,    their mist sweeping --
how they sometimes refigure and conceal
losses and mistakes of        life

I have touched your heart
                in so many different ways
from different angles, --

Still I seek to touch you,
                    How?

bending      of souls
we carried     but once

seemingly         now     I find strength in small
                stones & drifting wood,
worn        sometimes smoothed
settling upon     dreams of ripples

I remember your eyes,
          the way you looked
that ‘Saturday’    sitting
so silent          under the tree
I        longed to know your thoughts--
but you couldn’t find the words
to release the emotion you felt
how I could’ve guessed, yet,
the stranger was gathering in your
eyes;

Pausing thought

I wished for rain    to
fall from             endless skies
to rebirth my heart,          & haunt your nights
from the ever present shadows
returning               you in one piece

I closed my eyes and fell
back into you

The night will be               a long time
coming
then, maybe, from the river of life
we can drink?

I wait for you
~~**~~**~~

This morning there’s a calm
I can’t explain-
By the time I recognize this
moment it will be gone
I will bend light
pretending it lingers on

The undeniable non-verbal.

Perceptive and well put.

Your title is beautiful, Lauren.

I felt your words as clearly as I did the weeping,
and the distance between worlds set apart.

Hugs and Happy New to you,  dear lady~

the poem...the signature...the muse

*sigh* ...  ( my oh my that muse)

I cherish it as I do the poet ...
for all the things spoken and unspoken...
for all things just understood

I can remember Forever December,
The center of dying ... the heart of the pain.
The stars surround me ... the cold astounds me.

GreenEyes~
I knew from the title that I would be swept away ... caught in the tides of your emotions~
I was ....~

'seemingly         now     I find strength in small
                stones & drifting wood,
worn        sometimes smoothed
settling upon     dreams of ripples'

Uh huh !
