While the leaves are gone,

the saintly rain
that falls from grace
hammering now
at pounding pace,
on fragile branches
that embrace;

The prisms drawn
on empty space,
by descending rays,
becoming now
an infernal blaze,

while the leaves are gone,

the thundering quake
remains within
the heart you forsake,
as i trace the
sojourning leaves
to rake,
the gathered echos
to soothe the ache
