There are many patches that make up my life, a patch for a mother a piece for a wife. There is a strip of color for eyes of emerald green, threads of golden hair stitched into every seam. Little strips of lace for the soft side within, tiny remnants of leather for the daring woman of sin. Ruffles make up borders for my delicate side, a quilt layering for things that I'd much rather hide. A collection of patches putting my life on display, all having been sewn together to make me what I am today. Knots tied securely to show I am strong, some stitches placed lightly to correct when I'm wrong. A combination of patches just little pieces of ME, all woven into the cloth of my life's tapestry. It's better than I could have planned.. it's made me who I am... {Trace Adkins} [This message has been edited by Gentle Spirit (12-23-2003 09:35 AM).] |
