Of Moths A worthy moth inspects my lair In hopes to find a flame to share But powder from her frothy wings Has frit the walls with glowing things Iridescence never seen Hanging gardens there to glean Echoes lit like fireflies Twinkle like the midnight skies She never lit a candles light But all the night has turned to bright And now this egos caverns dark Whispers like a meadowlark How is substance made of dust? Effervesce to carbon trust Spill to waterfalls of drive And make the dead feel so alive She woke my Randy dragon’s rill And so the fire of his will. |

Sy, Your perception so refreshes me every time I stop your post. I felt as if I were there. And then, of course, you top it off with a little science and philosophy. You have it all it your pocket!!! "How is substance made of dust? Effervesce to carbon trust" Sadelite |

Of Dragons & Poets Dragons come and dragons go ... huff and puff to steal the show. Snort and roar at the castle's gate ... holding in store a moth in wait. She saw through his smoke and fire ... she knew he was destined to fly higher. She had seen his heart worn on sleeve, read his dreams in rhymed reprieve. For he was a poet in dragon's disguise ... as well as a prophet with an artist's eye. By stroke of brush and gifted pen ... his vision told of what was--would be again. He spoke of truth, of right and wrong ... wisdom wrapped in poetic song. She could not deny his brilliant light ... he lit up the night as his words took flight. As he wrote his name across her heart and the satin sky ... he painted this moth's wings the colors of butterflies. |
