Two laughing people in a movie theatre It's their way of knowing they belong together Heroes, villians and comedic giants Are just characters forgotten in defiance By self-involved lovers in this world Two more people by the lake The guy is strumming his custom made Playing chords and humming songs To the average ear sounds so wrong But to a lovers ear is their song Downtown is like a lovers mart Uptown is full of broken hearts Where the jealous and vengeful come to plot A broken, bitter, and battered lot All here to forget the best times of their lives Where I belong I don't know Uptown seems much too cold Downtown reminds me too much pain Every street and every lane My best choice is to be alone |

A sad write, that spoke to me of the dating scene...which can be particularly difficult at the holiday. Alone time is precious, and if used well, can pave the way for a flood of light, and well being. Perspective is everything in life. Hugs and good wishes for a wonderful experience. TD |
