How we got started way back when...

I caught a big Blue Heron, caught it with my
bare hands, put it in my gumbo with bell pepper
and cayenne. First came control, remote, complete.
Then came the city street underneath my country feet.
One lonely night that Blue Heron said its time to find a wife…
Barbie Dolls are lined up, lined up in a row marching like blonde
robots into the Gulf of Mexico. One day that big Blue Heron
whispered from inside me; you find one nice and make her
happy Brasse le Couche-Couche; and have yourself lots of
fun you see? You know there is an old Cajun superstition;
an umbilical cord (nom-bril) buried under a rose bush is
said to influence the newborn to become a musician.
Make me one, make two, make me at least five,
cause The Blue Heron Band, is goin’ to Jump
and Jive and Fricassee them city folk alive.

Now we made the big time, even played NYC,
and people often come up, come up and ask me…
Why you call yourself The Blue Heron Band? Smile,
pour t'faie sourire, look man you wouldn’t understand.

boring? i think not,,,,you can taste the music, spicy and hot,,,,,,keep going and playing,,,never give in,,,,and remember, if they complain,,,say to them,,,Je Taime....
