Like a soft down blanket on winter’s arctic night, your heartfelt words wrapped me warm and tight. A quick cruise to Santa Cruz might just be a dream theme tonight, to you from me. As I listen to the noise from the city streets, the sirens scream out warnings of danger, reminding me it’s time to move my feet down the road again to start a new adventure. Plastic trees and overly sculpted floral facades do not hide the truth from these smog stung eyes. Life doesn't thrive in the chokehold of manmade darkness, the exhaust of millions of moving metal coffins. The silicone city gives us a platform, a roadmap to the world via programs and chips. But it does not know how to hear a heart's song, dream of adventures with Buffet on pirate ships. Remember the sea and the mountains of home, and when you get sick of the city, let your mind's eye roam freely through natural beauty. |

Oh Yeah, can sure hear you here...Lounge wear with sports strips, looks like everybody here should be carrying a tuba and marching in a school band.Always wondered about people jogging alongside the expressway, breathing all that exhause hard and heavy getting healthy.Got to stay fit to enjoy that new gas guzzling suv.Talk about a catch 22...on the other hand theres a beautiful coast as diverse as the freaks at Venice to the rocky bluffs of Big Sur.From the smells and bustle of fishermans wharf to the sandy expances of northern california and Oregons beaches ,dunes and estuaries.Of coarse that's not the city, least wise not yet but close enough to it to offer this hillbilly some pleasent memories and natural relief.Dang was 70 F and sunny here in the eastern reaches of San Jose today,a far cry from home.Yep ,will think of those hills and waters of the far north often while here, and certainly appreciate you taking the time to pen your reminder.Too bad Calif got no Midnightsun,so I'll just have to value you via cyber space.Hasta La Vista Baby. ![]() Live like it's your last day... |

Remember the sea and the mountains of home, and when you get sick of the city, let your mind's eye roam freely through natural beauty. to each his own happiness, creativity and belief...for life's companion is stricken souly, intoxicated on whatever it might be giving space to the powers that create beauty. Lovely lovely write my friend...way to go! Now this is one poem after my very own soul...enjoyed muches....Happy holidays! |
