The contradiction… is astounding A lazy Sunday afternoon, flippin through the channels Trying to keep boredom at bay CNN—Breaking News!!! “Saddam, Captured! Alive!” Suddenly, I crave boredom more than anything A thousand times, I see the same scene A soldier of ours combing through his lice infested hair A flashlight, A tongue depressor Probing, Invading, Emasculating A thousand times, they flash the scene Just the image they want portrayed “Look, He is Beaten, Dirty, Unclean, A Broken Man Admire how we invade him See how strong and mighty we are now!” Click! When I have had my fill of this horror we call the news. Stop! on the next channel Ohhh what have I found? The Philharmonic, and Andrew Rieu Playing his violin, or is his violin playing him? The music fills my soul As passionate music always does He plays so profoundly beautiful It can be nothing but… Heavenly intervention The music pours from within From his very being His eyes are closed as his soul takes over I am moved to tears as the music invades me Consuming my heart and mind The contradiction… is astounding From: Total Gut wrenching, Heart ripping, Mind blowing, Horror… To: Absolute, Pure, Innocent, Heavenly, Beauty… All at the flick of a button All I wanted was a lazy Sunday afternoon flippin through the channels trying to keep boredom at bay So go the contradictions… of this thing we call life! |

And that's how the world goes, Tobi. I do know what you're talking about... when we've had enough of the world, we just want a quieter, simpler, invasion... Well done! |

That is how it is and has been ever since they invented the channel controller... At least we have the choice to watch or not to watch. M |
