A boy's silent face expressions erased taken from his chair others gloated... one stared... "I must have your name young man' was the teachers morning command... see, I have to register you here the space is void...that's what's queer". the boy said while the teacher bled: "It's been filled.. by my first name my name's 'my name'..my culture's to blame... perhaps you ought to question it's source that a name be a choice of words of course". the teacher remarked as if the boy had barked: "On the nature of your title,I must insist. Provide first name first..or I'll persist... clearly what you seek is punishment a rhetorical name is a detriment".... the boy said while authority still bled... "believe me..I answer to that when called... persist if you must but avoid being galled.. taunt me, tease me but please believe me... the name's 'my name', not to deceive thee". A day after this negation, after the boy's interrogation; an embarrassed teacher consulted the school's preacher... "Sorry, I've confirmed your baptized name is true you needn't supply me with another one that's new". [This message has been edited by ecrivan (12-15-2003 11:34 PM).] |

ROTFL, as I read this outloud it made me laugh, and yet? it is sad when anyone is forced to apologize or explain his/her name. A case in point? someone I knew who had to answer to the name "Manny Dick." He never lived it down. |

This one comes as an adaption from a true tale that occurred in Zimbabwe: the boy was called 'My Name', the authorities challanged that and then the school vouched it to be true. The fellow who supplied me with fuel for the write is called 'Innocent'. |
