across the starkness of distant colds two winter trees stand empty barren aching of what their day holds branches reaching climbing high scarred and scraped starving fruitless grieving to an endless sky extending like fingertips briefly touching grasping blindly the darkness finding connecting dreaming these hearts of wood sleeping embracing love if they could thru hibernations long slumber silent and still awakening on a late March morn bearing gifts of their calling the soft scented blossoms of endless will |

across the starkness of distant colds This is definitely my favorite line/part. The phrase 'distant colds' particularly. It just brings on such a neat image in my head. I have to agree, this poem is georgeous. You have a way of putting descriptive words together to form a united mosaic that all ocmes together in the end. |
