A Beach on Cozumel… Konrad led the way, I merely followed…and yet by now, when once he had seemed so real, so touchable, I continued looking for his real, but more and more of a spirit in kind, or is that kindred spirit for although I never saw him bona fide, I felt the touch, and heard the whispers, experienced a tug, or was it, his push? So, taken, at first I thought the sight of manatee, but that was yet to come, for they are fragile, tender beasts, crashing salty waters not for them, still, a beast of sorts came through green waves, to beach itself, yet, stayed fixed, gaping with a call from another time, what had it seen, I heard again what had it seen? Again yesterday’s eye held… then someone said, see blues and greens, see aquas of marine, hear the crash, see a falls, see beyond, again, into God’s sea foam green and I did… I saw yet another face, although no one else did see but two eyes, a gaping mouth, yes, admitting, ‘twas I, I, caught up in mystery…. and then I heard him speak again, a character I thought I had birthed, but now a muse whose muse captured me, to stay me still upon this earth. See you now great crash of wave look into the lava’s eye where time’s debris has taken ’way hollowing the likes of I, where once a curl of tongue caressed even coarsest stone where the spray leaps up to pray before it falls to home where Dana and I had spent the time for a moment alone in her mind before she returned to what must be and I, to the likes of mine and then his steps tread into high foam then sidestepped, crab-like ways and brought, then sought me alone to stand still as stone before an onslaught of waves for stone is what had made this beach, that, and broken shell, and pumice from a long-ago upheaval from depths of hell then something grew upon this land, a dirge in sand, it seemed, for then a mark, like touch of sword with a northern hilt to beam graced the grains so long, so clean, when then the steps seemed to walk away as I gazed upon this dream. I took a breath, a deep salt-filled drag upon tranquility and tried, oh tried, to see through eyes that did not belong to me ~ I thought my Konrad was so real, and real to some, he is but now it seemed he belonged to time, and in such a manner, he did…. but spirits be, and spirit, he, as time, it is but thought, while yet I struggle as do all with what a muse has wrought, and could not feel, that which is not real, this loss of face in time but I deeply feared as yet this queer revelation be… heed the voice, heed the feel you do not believe the qualm for I shall stray and yet, you’ll stay and follow to beyond so I did, as shall you, to lands of which he speaks and I, as you, shall dream beyond, to quest for what we seek. ...to be continued [This message has been edited by Sunshine (12-16-2003 06:46 AM).] |

so many images...so many conjorings of colors, sights, scents, and sounds... you built the tempo of this one like the crashing of the waves...(how clever you are) but it twas tis verse that said it all... and then I heard him speak again, a character I thought I had birthed, but now a muse whose muse captured me, to stay me still upon this earth. ============================== a muse is given life by a poets pen ... there are the rare and gifted times when the muse gives the poet breath. You have walked with that muse on that shore... whats still to be,-- is now written in the sand...soon to be written out to poetic perfection on these blue pages. |

captivating...both words and pictures...lovely musing. only one critique...mechanics alone...near the beginning..."I've never saw him bona fide" "saw" should be "seen" to agree with the "have" of "I've." Hope that is a helpful notice Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Good morning ~~ I read this last night and had to run and get my hubby to come and see the pictures and read it also. The pictures are so real that we both felt we were on a Carribean island enjoying the sun, sand and warm turquoise water. We have not been able to take this kind of vacation in many years and you let us have a glimpse of one last night. Thank you so very much. The whole package poems and pictures have been a true gift. Dear Sunshine..I have read a lot of voice (including mine) depicting the sea...a love which constantly pulls and speaks to me...but I have yet to read...such elegence, and divine portrayal as you have blessed us with here today...this was indeed by the hand of God through you...for you've seen and heard his maticulous hand paint. I'm looking very forward to the continuation of this...God Bless you and yours...mighty Poetess. |

"See you now great crash of wave look into the lava’s eye where time’s debris has taken ’way hollowing the likes of I, where once a curl of tongue caressed even coarsest stone where the spray leaps up to pray before it falls to home" and this... "but spirits be, and spirit, he, as time, it is but thought, while yet I struggle as do all with what a muse has wrought, and could not feel, that which is not real, this loss of face in time" and the pictures....Love it.... |
