It must be fate that so decreed For that is how it may seem To those who live and watch from afar As we live the quintessential American Dream But the American Dream came at a price Of struggle and loss and endless strife Carried on shoulder with dignity and pride By those who willingly gave their life. So that one and all may be free To pursue their dream or want or need With patience, perseverance and persistence anew Regardless of religion, race or creed. And so its inherent in our legacy That no matter what fate may deem, The bold and brave will challenge destiny In relentless pursuit of the American Dream. |

My friend, I really enjoyed this one from you, and as an American living elsewhere, I can tell you that the same dream is felt throughout the world....freedom, peace, and the pursuit of happiness!! Great write!! ~S~ Life is what you make it |
