In memory of all those people who perished at the Sari Club in Bali on 12th October 2002 * * * I still recall the fragrant smell Of frangipanis in the air In this place of friendly faces I remember when I was there But fun turned into tragedy On that terrible October day When the evil powers of terrorism Had their wicked way The victims were in paradise At least that's what they thought But the bomb erased that image And so many lives were fought Young Aussies having fun Were cut down in their prime It was so hard to imagine Who could commit such a crime We looked on in disbelief As they counted up the dead We listened silently in horror As all their names were read So much pain and heartache In a world of trouble and strife So many lives now ruined Such a waste of human life * * * I felt the need to put pen to paper and remember those who died on that tragic day when innocent people having fun had their lives so cruelly taken from them.We hang our heads in sorrow as we ask "Why?" Very touching poem. It's sad that these terrorists hearts are filled with nothing of beauty and life. What a shame, that too I think is a waste of human life. Good write! |

Sue: Nice tribute to all those whose lives were so cruelly taken in Bali. I know you spent time there and can picture the country where this happened. Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

Hi Sue ... you have a terrific way of writing that gets to the heart and soul of the subject. It's hard to believe a whole year has passed since this tragedy. So many tragedies in our world and they leave us feeling so empty and frightened. Thank you for remembering and writing such touching words. Huggles and luvs, Marti Hear Blessings dropping their blossoms all around you. |

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Sue, this is so very tragic, sweet friend, I find it horrible how anyone could think of ever committing nothing but hatred and harm on people! (wipes tears) My heart sends many angel heart hugs to all the victims, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth |

Sue, thanx for showing me this. Thanx for writing this. And most of all, thanx for the kindness of your heart that so unselfishly shares your feelings with each of us. |

Today, all around Australia we will remember all those lives lost in the Bali tragedy, a day that will be etched in our hearts forever. Australia may be a small island compared to the rest of the world but that doesn't mean we are far enough away from the evil powers of terrorism - the Bali tragedy showed us that and brought it right to our doorstep. Many of the people who survived with terrible burns and many of the families of the dead have made a pilgrimage to go to Bali for the one year ceremony and rememberance. Even those people who weren't directly affected by the bombing have gone to show their support to others. Most of all many of the Australians who have gone back are there to help support the Balinese people because they have suffered the most and continue to suffer due to the massive downturn in tourism. "We are all angels with only one wing, we can fly only by embracing each other" Take care........Sue I am in motion I am blue Love is an ocean I'm anchored in you - Shawn Mullins [This message has been edited by Suetang (10-11-2003 05:18 PM).] |

I remember, Sue...it was as terrible a day in Bali as the previous attack in the U.S. We all prayed that it would stop here, and we felt helpless when we saw it happen again. Thank you so much for your heartfelt prayer. |
