GOTTA GET THE WORD OUT

I’ve got to get the word out
And, "What word?", you ask
Well, I really don’t know
If, I’m up to the task.

Sometimes, I hope a word of cheer
But, that happens, rarely
Maybe a word of hope, sometimes
Or maybe, one, that’s scary.

How can someone, put words of rhyme
Where, they shouldn’t be?
I don’t know, don’t ask me
Beats the hell out of me.

But, I’ve got to get the word out
Can’t hold it here inside
I try to let them all go by
But, I can’t seem to hide.

They always flush me out
And put my thoughts to work
I guess that, I’m kinda odd
And, have, a funny, quirk.

I try to keep it simple
‘Cause that is all I know
"Cause if I can’t understand them
How, the hell, are you to know.

I must have some kind of "bug"
Trying so hard to get out
And, when it does I wonder
What it’s all about.

I like "THE POOR MANS’ POET"
Because I sure am poor
But, then I ask myself
"What else, could I wish for?"

I’ve seen a lot of things
And there’s a lot I’ve done
But, know there’s so much more
And maybe more, just one.

But if, I never do another
And it all comes to an end
I’ve broken all the rules
Past where, they wouldn’t bend.

And as ol’ Bob Seeger says
"Wish I didn’t know now
What, I didn’t know then."
Then, I would know how.

But, 'long as I get the word out
I know, I won't explode
But, when, they all are gone
I prob'ly will implode.
