I touched her arm and she smiled And she stepped further into the mess. I held her hand and she tightened them And she stepped further into disaster. Harmless fun sprouted from her lips As she said our game of slavery is what she loved But she continued to hold it fragile in her gloves That kept her hands clean over and over again Whispering again in my ear She slowly turned the lights out She kept herself free of guilt As we drank in the shadows She swears nothing but fun to me And love to the other one But now she’s moving further away From that game of fair-play Getting her clothes dirty by mud And both our hearts she kept under the covers Well I know you’d like secrecy from your lips And mine. And mine. Well in this house alone I’ll stay for you to play And you’ll spill out your love to him today You still swear nothing but fun to me And love to him for all time Further into this mess, you’ve gone This triangle will get you down Even your heart’s not meant for two-hand holding So take your hand out of mine into his Without your gloves for all time Love is only an excuse to hurt and to get hurt... Knowledge brings ye fear. |
