My Mistress She is the mistress of my mind One I search and cannot find I know that she’s upon this earth For earth is mother to her birth. She leaves me little gentile clues A sky that’s filled with gorgeous hews The emerald of a sea of gleam The wonder of a night of dream She tiptoes through my flowerbed And odors me about my head Caresses me with winds above Whispering a song of love. She is the siren of my art The strings that play upon my heart That hosts me with a ghost of spend That never seems to ever end. She is the mistress of my mind Yet with these clues I still can’t find. |
