Within each star in heavens high,
Resides a single firefly,
To shine upon the earth below,
Each vespertine in twinkling glow.

Why pray tell, do fireflies,
Reside in stars in nighttime skies?
It happened many years ago,
At least my father told me so.

It seems there was an angel wee,
Who was heaven sent, at earth age three,
She was afraid the dark of night,
And asked St. Peter for some light.

Because back then, stars had not light,
Not even Mars, no planets bright,
The heavens were as black as coal,
Once came the night, to take control.

St. Peter told the angel wee,
I guess perchance that we might see,
If I can brighten up night’s sky,
Perhaps to light each star I’ll try.

St. Peter thought, and thought and thought,
He feared his thinking was for naught,
Then he gave it one more try,
Remembering the firefly.

St. Peter told the angel wee,
When night arrives, you now will see,
The twinkling of the fireflies’ light,
No more will nighttime give you fright.

Wee angel smiled and went to sleep,
A trillion stars did angel keep,
Safe and sound throughout the night,
Glowing, twinkling, shine fireflies light.

(smiles) Oh Tim, this is most delightful, sweet friend, I believe the stars truly are signs of the angels guiding us all and fireflies are like their mediators that warm our childrens heart with their sparkling light! (big hugggsssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Tim, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Gods little lanterns flitting about. What a treat this was because when a little girl these little creatures fascinated me.
