this was written about my youngest grand-daughter, who was born on Thanksgiving Day, 2002, to my son and his S.O. My son had just been operated on for testicular cancer, and Faith is probably their only child. Faith is the substance of things hoped for... A daughter for my son for grandpa, his light shines on The evidence of things not seen Purpose, meaning. and a life to preen Grow, our child, amongst the weeds know that the Universe will meet your needs You are as important as the very sky the air we breath and the trees grown high Live this moment as only a child though you must tame to life, let your spirit be wild and free and fanciful, may your heart always dance As life has given you, give of your substance Knowing this, you are the dust of the stars Aware of I now, now nothing bars from abundance, peace and grace for now eternal existence in the eternal now Upon this plane, and in this life Faith overcomes trouble and strife And with love and peace and joy and laughter brings eternity to now from the here-after Peace, Joe |

Joe...I would say you are just a little bit proud of Faith, as you should be. I have 2 grand daughters and I spoiled them both. I always heard grandfathers are partial to little girls and I guess it is true. I enjoyed reading about her in this poem. You should write her a poem each year for her birthday about her growing up and facing life. Put them in a special album for her to keep forever. Enjoyed the poem...Paul "To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you" |

thank you all for reading and responding. these more personal poems are more valuable than my philosophic meanderings through the canons of my mind. thank you again. Peace, Joe |
