Life, it seems
a masquerade
A whirling ride of wave
I, upon the shore
Staring blindly to sea
Contemplating looking deeper

Wonder
right or wrong
thoughts of alone
binding me to the waves

Slipping upon moss, grown
years upon years
grasping a gasp
of light
as I slip beneath
myself

Lying there
I look to the sky
for light and salvation
watching colors
swirling, twisting, twirling
as the Heavens melt
into the night

I clasp these hands
which shake
from frost of chill
time spent too long
within murky waters
they meet, in prayer
Do you hear me, Lord?

Or have you forsaken me
yet again in despair
leaving me here
desparate, Soul-less
drowning in this
the Grand Illusion
of my Life
