Many thanks to Balladeer who showed me how to tighten the strings of my racquet and play without a net. *Gtin She came to me holding wisdom in a cup of tea frail hands trembling with excited anticipation at the chance to talk, to teach to share I unwillingly took this task listened at her feet to fill the empty spaces of my day, my soul while the tea went unnoticed while the wisdom from her cup overflowed and spilled in the sunlight that danced in the air above us I had come to ravage and pillage, with my anger and impatience. I thought to seize by force what she freely offered; I absorbed her tale heard what it was to live her life I had envied her ease and wealth yet she taught me hardship, not in lack of possessions, but of loving another and living the cold lie of a marriage bed until death blessed her with sweet relief I came away refreshed after many times of returning half heartedly. Sadly, her tea and wisdom could not impart an old head on young shoulders I, impatient to get on with life, paused in her keeping slowly learning to sip gently and not gulp the small pleasures life can hold The final time I went I had grown beyond the order that kept me there she, nothing more than a husk had faded. As I turned away I heard the whisper of wisdom on the wind: Remember this - remember me. Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

Beloved one, yet again I ask is this fair and sociable? Why you are constantly so good at writing I don’t understand, would it not be possible to write something that doesn’t make the cut once in a while? Okay, I agree that your use of language is always good, your ability to write is outstanding and your flow and style are all superior, but just once in a while couldn’t you mangle a line? No? Oh well, what else can I expect? If I have to adore you, as all that have the barest knowledge of me know I do, then of course I’m going to say your writing is divine. BUT darling one just once couldn’t it be a little less so? Beautiful work beloved one absolutely beautiful, a side note from Krissy, who says you can’t write that well, as you know she meant that you aren’t allowed to write that well! We both love you, but I adore you more. Krissy will now be hopping mad, since the demise of her computer means she can’t respond quickly to this little battle-cry and forever Mushy and ‘Deer dearest heart, is it absolutely necessary to assist her? Why not let her lose match point, or at least watch her stumble a bit on center court, before she gets into her stride and leaves me floundering at 40 love Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds |

Keep it up and you'll turn into a real tennis son (or daughter)!! Keth, whatever racquet you raise is sure to score a point somewhere and, even if it doesn't, it's still the only sport where, when you don't score at all, it's called love. Thank you for letting me tinker around with your excellent thoughts and words....it was a good match |

This is lovely but very sad. Tea and wisdom. But in the end the wisdom's in the evanescent wind. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |
