I remember you, Gabby Hayes old grizzled geezer, with face like brown burlap. Your beard dangles in the saddlebags of forgotten old movies. Where are they now, Gabby Hayes? The ones with the white-horsed hero who shot straight and often and never reloaded. And you, the trusty side-kick flashing your toothless mouth and mumbling fake funny lines. Where are the old films now, Gab? They lie somewhere, sprocket holes torn, held together with splicing tape and memories. Waiting, Waiting for what? Yet, I remember you, Gabby Hayes, grizzled old timer. I remember your films. |

Yeah, me too... How could we ever forget? Yet, on the other hand...how can so many remember who never have known.... Does this mean I am getting o.l.d.? |

Oh Hell! I'm so old, I met him. Of course, I also met a guy who fought at Shiloh in the Civil War. He was OLD! Great poem for jogging memory. Thanks! |
