Autumn mornings, they descend In rivulets, sent forth by breeze; Formed by night-mists on the trees, * and try to fill-up sieves of nests That summer birds have built and left, Fall on weed and flower seeds That nestle in their duff-soft beds; On rabbit nose, On deer and chuck, On me: * The congregates, like suicides Jump random, from the points of leaves From high aloft they drop and then, Make noisy, splatter sounds; (As their soft bodies hit the ground) |
