Volumes after volumes are all stacked within my mind
But just one page I’ve come to share, for that’s all I could find
For it’s a page of poet thoughts, all quilled for you to see
The volumes may have once been read, but this page now is me

There’s places made from sunshine there, of drought that sees no rain
There’s placed filled with teardrops too that store my inner pain
A heaven for my loving, yet no wings for when I fall
A chest that holds each memory, of which I still recall

It lies there in a corner, in a place I go to rest
My shadow sits there writing all the words I know the best
The ink of all my feelings pour, of blood, of joy and tears
Till sleep again does come my way and shadow disappears

The page has well been trodden, has been studied top to end
Absorbing time reflections by the shadow that had penned
But waiting for the batten from the book that tells a tale
Of heart that showed its inner soul, one poets holy grail

Goodmorning Rick,

Yes  within each of us there is a story to be told...we are books to be read...pages of our lifes...written out each day.

Also I get from your poem that your heart holds many memories/feelings and your heart could be your Holy place, your sacred place....

Brilliant poem sir Rick~

True poets don't write with the ink of quill or pen, but with the ink of their heart~

ARH, Good morning to you also my friend, though the time here is almost midnight. A poet seems to think all the time, so many words to decipher, but it is wonderful to share them all with friends once you have, have a great day and be well, thanks for the great reply, they are always heart felt.

Sincerely
Rick
