The door, shutting
as a shadow slid effortlessly beneath.
Saying Ciao, Haste La Vista and
so many other goodbyes into the twang
of night’s string guitar.

Click, click into the eve as echoes
swallowed themselves whole in
the sewer drain.   I miss you, you
just left, with roses for cheeks and
lipstick smears on my navel.  Night
tugs me to the rumpled sheets, crumpled
packs and empty glasses....Memories
stir...swirl the bowl of lust again.

Cackling softly, the crackle of coals
calling.  Warming the chill of air
floating above the sill, wishing to
be free to roam the night, flipping
skirts too short for winter’s winds.

Wait!  My mind feverishly screaming,
drowned by the hiss of a train before
the leave...destination of tomorrow
as passion ebbs into the darkened corners.

Will you?   Will I hear the click of heels
on skyscraper legs as chilling winds tug
the mini and blow the mind away?

Ciao Baby, I’m listening...

This is really nice Barry~
There are so many ways to say good-bye
and rewind the time that was, once.

Loved it!!!

(smiles) This eally got to me like a holographic postcard, dearest friend, you see the neon lights buzzing in one still-frame, with the next diamond heels and parasol drifting by with electric hair! May love and light always shine upon you!

Such verve...such impatience!

Such an extremely good rendering of the mood of the haunting night wind.

Always good to read you. TD

Oh Barry!

I am so glad I found this...

I have sat and listened to the sound of Ciao as well...does it sound the same to everyone?
