WORDS I’ve only words to give you and a promise from within My poetry and whispers and a sorry for each sin My soul which shares a passion that my heart cannot confine A scroll of still veiled lullabies and prayers to make you mine My words are not enough to say the many things I feel My tears might be the only thing to show the way I deal For words are lonely without touch to sanction them as truth As honesty from in the heart, provides the needed proof Words are lonely without ear to hear or eyes to see A word is worthless without voice to tame or pen to free As hearts are empty, beating cold and heavy on the soul They both need time for sharing and a place to make them whole |
