Where be the prance of wander’s child,
pondering, running free?
In search the brook of fishes wild,
waiting to basket be.

To wade the chill of waters clear
and tickle tiny toes.
Upon the eve of Autumn’s drear
before the first fall snows.

Where grew the acorns high among
the meadow’s branches brown.
As children sang a new song sung
till smiles replaced their frown.

While on their toes the crack was missed
so mother’s back was well.
And rosy cheeks were pinched and kissed
before the story’s tell.

Till fires are felt the hearth in flame
and cocoa warms the chill,
a wondrous child shall bear the name
“Wander’s Child,” they will...

BRAVO!!!
Barry, this has such a beautiful rhythm, it must be read outloud to really appreciate the impact of its cadence.

Dear Magnus, this is a keeper for sure! Love it. Chris

Wonderful poem Barry! You are a really talented individual. One day I WILL be that good, 'til then though I watch and learn! Thank-you for helping me with mine own writing.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

This one makes me smile. I can see 'Wander's Child'---and wish it was me.
