Today, I Looked In The Mirror |

The sunlight filtered through shades drawn an awakening, a new day. In slow yawn of dawn an arising feet hit floor, startled by the coolness of wood {aged with passing of time} at that time of year when night turns cold only to fade away with heat of day. I, sleepy eyed in half stumble of wake approach dreaded mirror with same disdain as every other morning {since "then".} With head low I shake away remaining remnants of dream and slowly lift eyes to face the reflection that has become known all to well. In silence of moment {I hear your words} feel them wrap around like the warmth of this blanket of bonding shared. {Reaching out, touching ...} Today I looked in the mirror and for the first time in a very long time I saw~ me. I wish you joy, I wish you peace, I wish that every star you see is within your reach... and I wish you still loved me. In silence of moment {I hear your words} feel them wrap around like the warmth of this blanket of bonding shared. {Reaching out, touching ...} Today I looked in the mirror and for the first time in a very long time I saw ~ me. ~*~ As it should be. But there are some days, we look beyond ourselves in the hurry up rush of the everyday mundane...and we forget the twinkle in our own eye. How wonderful that you saw you today... That tells me everything! |

Thanks for all the wonderful replies. Sometimes someone says something that makes an impact on how we feel about things and even ourselves and I am grateful for those people who touch my life with their words. {And to my Cowboy buddie Tex, I just wanna say HUGS and Yippeekya!} [This message has been edited by Gentle Spirit (10-31-2003 11:47 AM).] |
