I am sitting here alone, thinking of you
Lost in the cusp of the crescent moon
As it illuminates the night sky
Outside my window, frame-by-frame, lost memories come back
At a quarter to ten on the last day of May
With June waiting on the wings of summer angels
To take over the lake
That holds every drowning dream I have ever had
On the surface everything seems calm
Under the waves crash the regrets of a year
Where I lost you
In the progress of our lives, something had to get lost
These moments of reflection are fragile in my hands
That I must put them down before they tear into pieces
Little reminders of what waits outside the window
Illuminated by the crescent moon
Circling around the clouds that darken the sky.

you write a beautiful bittersweet melancholy moon poet sir.
The line I bolded above is such a cool personification!
Lovely write of assonance, emotion and imagery.

You're the color of the sky reflected in each store-front window pane ...
You're the whispering and the sighing of my tires in the rain.

Another fine piece of writing here John.  I adore poems with reference to the moon.

"We are all angels with only one wing,
we can fly only by embracing each other"

OMG!!! I missed this one?!?!

Very well written and so introspect and sad...
you have me at empathy.

Fly once more around the night
There is yet another moon to find
You are not alone, You are light
And someone waits for you to shine.

That is my wish for you.
And.........

Love, Light and Peace,
Sherry
