Hwy 38 winds among stacked limestone hills and black Jack, stunted from a third cut mentality that seems to match the attitudes about change that exist all along the corridor leading to the Upper reaches of the Gasconade. We got stares when we stopped for gas disapproval and suspicion evident in every unblinking eye that took us in. You wore shorts and a checked shirt unbuttoned three that let the swell of you tempt my eyes, and cried "Hussy" to right wing revisionist that would re-write the words of "God" to fit some comfort level that denied human touch was pleasure. I suffered not that week from fire and brimstone strictures but was instead filled with embers that lusted to flame before in an end we were coated cold with ash. It was later, when I pulled the book from its wrapper and wrote, "I found their eyes to be hot as they explored the length of your leg and the swell of your chest, but cold, when it came to meeting the idea you were more than some passing toy." I heard you rustle the sheets and so I closed the pages on another piece of this passage and reached for your skin to fall into the prayer that was love "Save me?" you said. |

This was an amazing write. "You wore shorts and a checked shirt unbuttoned three that let the swell of you tempt my eyes, and cried "Hussy" to right wing revisionist that would re-write the words of "God" to fit some comfort level that denied human touch was pleasure." A very sexually stimulating passage, a political rant, and a moral observation all within the same stanza. Brilliant!!! |
