I Miss You So Your voice was gone yet lingered still your charms, As well they must to soothe the searing ache This empty bed and worse these empty arms, Impress upon a heart about to break. Too few the stolen moments we enjoy When no one may intrude upon our bliss, Too many then the hours we must employ In dreams of one embrace or one sweet kiss. Return and taste the pleasures we alone In honest open trust may feast upon And rest beneath a blanket of our own Unselfish love until the break of dawn. The nights are long without you by my side, Return to me, and for a time, abide. |
