On that Sunday it began for me, on a beautiful afternoon Still dressed in Renaissance... the faire I left too soon To catch the plane, to satellite and park my car on lot Who would have thought when I returned, that space I had forgot... Well back to the beginning of my flight which was delayed Due to the hurricanes down south, an hour longer stayed Then onto Tampa airport, from Baltimore I flew Was greeted by the largest sign, balloons and three, I knew. Marsha, Keth and Krissy were waiting there for me And helped me with my heavy bags so full, each of the three They packed me in the rental car and we proceeded home But hours passed and Tampa signs kept showing where we roamed. At least four times that I recall we Tampa'd, circled back I landed at 9:30, by 1 a.m. came the attack Anxiety getting nowhere, as Krissy tired so Finally directions given, placed us in the know. We stopped at NewPort's Denny's where the others were well known They each filled on dessert, I had breakfast, hunger moaned It now was almost 3 a.m. and bed I wished to find We settled in and I unpacked, then into comfort climbed. I was earlier than the rest, to get accustomed to poets whom I'd never met, what a pleasure I was due.... ~~*~~ more to come, Marsha dear "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." Little Mo darling one, how wonderful are the memories that come flooding back to me. Krissy has spent all this week saying remember Little Mo,s face when she arrived, or remember that boot checking man when we kept arriving back at Tampa. Personally I still have my suspicions about Keth and that man, I swear she had Krissy keep coming back because she was enamoured of him. Only joking Beloved One, I know it was Krissy who was keen It’s a beautiful piece of writing darling heart and I love it, how I wish I were there still and forever Mushy Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds |

Maureen, the times we made within that place helped those smiles upon my face and I recall with fondest glee the joy we took in losing thee and yes the hour was very late as we returned back to the gate where the airport was soon found IF WE'D HAD A MAP, we'd be homeward bound Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. It was such fun. By the time they came for me, they knew the way! Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

I have been off of this forum for a while and Maureen, I tell ya, it is great to come back to this. I feel maybe I have to know the entire situation, but your flow of words helps my life to flow a bit more smoothly. I am accually back to post poems I have written for my speech so they will be considered published. There is one in Dark Poetry 4 and I am posting one here. Look for them. |
