Understood
is frozen gift of December
and the many months
I acted upon love

Her moment arrived
as mine folded
and became reference

And now
I cannot bare to look upon all i wished for her

~All I knew would arrive

There is nothing I can tell her of joy
and no praise of he whom loves her

of which I once would have gushed

For in this moment of loves disrespect
I do not trust myself
nor any mouth who should speak the word
that poisons judgement

I am mistaken for non believer
who needs the firm hand of loves purpose
to fill her with confirmation that it will come

In truth
I was once this hand
and with understanding
came so much bitter confusion

"In truth
I was once this hand
and with understanding
came so much bitter confusion"

and yet we cry the tears of loss..
for even in our confusion
we know
the loss

"if you won't let me fall for you
then you won't see the best that I would love to do for you"

Dear Gemma, you spoke what I am incapable of writing.  Sad to say I see myself so clearly in your poem, yet it helps me to let go a little bit more, and for that I thank you.   Oh I know I am always coming and going, but I can no longer stay and read his words to her, the ache is unbearable, as the knife continues to twist, I just wish it didn't hurt so bad....  but I suppose that is my payback for ever caring at all. Some things never change and were never meant to be.   Still, I just gotta believe love will find a way, someday.

I wish I didn't understand these feelings so well.  This is truly exquisite poetry and wonderfully expressed.

Hugs for you gemma, gemma~

Oh Gemma, my little friend. My heart is touched for you. i wish that I could help in some way. Your poems have inspired a poem I'm fixing to post, if you would like to see it. It's simply titled, "I Understand"
With love and hugs, sweet lady
Ethel
