"The hag is astride This night for to ride, The devil and she together; Through thick and through thin, Now out and then in, Though ne'er so foul be the weather." (Exert from "The Hag" by Robert Herrick) ****************************************** All Hallows Eve * Away, the ark of light recedes And shrieking witches, earthbound fly, Zombies trailing after make The tethered dogs and bitches cry, Perplexing all their masters. * Lines of ghouls out in the street And Goblins, ladies Dressed up indiscreet Hanging on the arms of mobsters. GI Joes and Wonder Women, All out begging, candy giving. * TV heroes, Fae's and princes Presidents, and pigs and witches Children fearful, wolfy men Clowns on stilts, Up high, they stand... I wish I was a child again. |
