The elements have truly gone awry, Earth creates quakes and mountains in my way; Roads are blocked by gusts of Wind and lightning bolts, Water creates tidal waves and blizzards today. But what of the element of destruction? I see no trace of the spirits of Fire. Could it be the winds have changed? Now the situation is dire. As I start to walk the path, I dodge the bolts; I run between the drops of rain and evade the falling stones. As I approach the mountain I seek to climb, I see what's left of the last hero - a broken sword and a pile of bones. But even now, no burning heat to scorch me. What's wrong? Where's the Fire gone today? A monster from the past blocks my passage, My old enemy now in my way. The fight begins, but I'm losing at first, All my strength is gone in a flash! Could this be my final battle? No! It won't end here! I begin to dash. My speed overwhelms my enemy, But still I can't seem to win. Just then I feel the heat, the flame, As the power of Fire bursts from deep within. Let it come forth! I'm not afraid! I'll never abandon my closest friend! My enemy never imagined this, He never expected his end! And once again, I resume my trek, A darkened heart in my hand. Though death has claimed the evil, I'll never let it have this land. And as I walk toward the source, My Fire balances the power. I've saved the world and all I held dear, Even in my darkest hour. What is life without poetry and adventure? |
